Josiah and Katharine Head Royce
Katharine, Anna's younger sister, was born in 1858.
 
Married Josiah Royce, an eminent scholar, philosopher, and at one time, a leading faculty member at the University of California.

This union provided a perfect name for the boys' school when Anna Head became coeducational. The Josiah Royce School was established in 1971.

In 1974, the name was changed to The Head Royce Schools, and then in 1979, the school became known by is current name, The Head-Royce School.
